The land, The Ocean and Man, Partners for life
Richard Roshon's multi-media presentations have delighted and inspired audiences in Hawaii, throughout the United States, and as far as South Africa. He has spoken to audiences in every type of setting- from conferences to cruise lines - from Universities to the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C. In 1999, Richard was the guest speaker at the Hermanus Whale Festival, held in Hermanus, South Africa. Sponsors of the Festival reported that his lectures "Drew unprecedented interest from the public and the media." Richard’s human-interest programs include more than 35 years of observing marine life all from the cockpit of his ocean kayak. During the winter months through still photographs and film Richard places his audience in the cockpit of his kayak while North Pacific Humpback whales lie by his side. His narrative is informative and inviting. Richards passion and dedication to the protection and respect for our natural surroundings is unending. Richard's program shares the beauty and fragility of Hawaii's natural ecosystems; his experiences/observations of whales, to large sharks all from the “Eyes of a Kayak”. Richard emphasizes “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe”. John Muir Richard continually updates his program.
