Your Private Kayak Experience

"Your Own Private Kayak Experience", is for the sole individual with a desire to view nature, Peacefully and with Respect - in a unique two-man open ocean skin kayak.

Unlike two hour whale watching trips - where scores of people and engine noise eliminate the songs and breathing of Humpback whales, the quietness of the kayak allows you to see and hear all. 

You do not have to be an experienced kayaker. Guests have ranged from elderly, handicapped, and schoolchildren who use this educational experience as a school project. This beautiful, peaceful and educational experience is offered nowhere else in Hawaii.

The Kayak - a 5000 year old tradition. Known as a creature of the sea. A flexible quiet craft once made from the skins of sea mammals, the frame of bone or driftwood. It was said that a man without a kayak, was a man without a home or family. The quietness of the kayak enabled the Eskimo too approach his prey quietly. For the Eskimo was well aware that whales, seals, and other wild life are extremely sensitive to noise.

The Feathercraft skin kayak is a flexible and comfortable craft. You will feel the movement of the sea beneath you. This experience is so relaxing that many of my guests tend to take naps, while the breathing and singing of North Pacific Humpback Whales fills the atmosphere.

A pillow and umbrella to shade you from the sun are provided. Surprisingly I find that many guests cannot remember when they were last surrounded by complete silence. How sad.

Not only will we be in the presence of whales, but in the presence of silence. For without silence there will be no whales. By the way NO cell-phones are allowed.

I do not approach whales. A kayak can be a disturbance. There are strict laws governing the approach to whales. Due to the fact that I place no time-limit on this experience - Time is on our side. Usually 4-6 hours is average.

Fresh mango or banana bread, fruit and hot chocolate will be served before entering the kayak. I encourage cameras and video camera's on this once in a lifetime experience.

The cost of this once in a lifetime experience is $370.00.

Summer kayak trips, overnights, and kayak sailing are available throughout the year. Reservations please.
